Once confirmed, the process starts by carefully applying a professional-grade whitening gel to your teeth. Special Light Activates the Gel for Stunning Results

This hydrogen peroxide-based gel is then activated by a special light that encourages oxygen to enter the dentin and enamel, oxidizing pigmented bacteria from the pores of the teeth without hurting healthy tooth structure.

Prior to Zoom! teeth whitening, Dr. Yang will prescribe an antisensitivity, remineralizing toothpaste formulated to help prevent discomfort during treatment. At the start of treatment, a protective barrier is placed on the gums to prevent any irritation of the soft tissue. We check on you regularly throughout treatment, and relieve sensitivity by modifying the intensity of the gel, shortening the duration of treatment, and applying Relief ACP gel.

Our patients enjoy bright, white smiles for up to a year! The longevity of your teeth whitening results depends on how you care for your teeth after treatment–avoid consuming teeth-staining beverages and foods when possible, such as red wine and turmeric. You can help prevent stains from forming by frequently drinking water while enjoying pigmented food and beverages. The use of tobacco products is another habit that can create tooth discoloration, so you may want to consider quitting, cutting back, or using non-staining nicotine-based products instead. Also, make sure to keep up with your dental hygiene and professional cleanings. If you notice you need a whitening touch-up, Dr. Yang may be able to provide you with professional at-home whitening gel and custom trays to use as needed.
